55th Ave Bedroom

Overview: How do you pack a punch in a smaller NYC apartment without overwhelming the space? Easy! You just put up a gallery wall with lighter elements, spots of color, and sass and VOILA! My clients already had a few really cool art pieces to work with (the charcoal prints and abstract mural), the rest of it was up to me to fill in the blanks. Because this was the couple’s first time sharing a space, I made sure to tie in decorative elements from both of their hometowns so it would feel like a collaborative haven. To make this happen, we incorporated ceramic work from their hometown’s well-known pottery shop, added in some photos from their recent European vacation, and threw in a beautiful Van Gogh poster print they picked up together around the corner at MOMA. And of course, we had to add in some contrast with the matching rattan nightstands and glazed ceramic lamps. Chefs kiss to the MAX.
